Donny Crandell

Donny Crandell is District 39’s first Accredited Speaker and, and a two-time, back to back International Speech Contest winner for District 39. In 2016, He won his semi-final round in Washington D.C with a speech entitled, “Make Someone a Millionaire.” He advanced to the World Championship stage with a speech entitled, “Learn to Live with It.” Donny is the first District 39 winner to compete on the championship stage since 1987. Currently, he is the president of Washoe Express Toastmasters in Reno, Nevada. In addition to being a Toastmaster, he is a pastor, magician, adjunct professor and chaplain in the Air National Guard. His hobbies include: fishing; biking; hunting; performing magic and following politics. But, his crowning achievement is the birth of his son, born on August 25, 2016 (Kyson Ray Crandell). Donny is passionate about communication and public speaking. In addition to all of his other responsibilities, he teaches Public Speaking at Multnomah Biblical Seminary in Reno. He believes the key to great speeches and great speakers is summed up in the phrase, “It’s All About Connection.”
