    District 39 Leadership & Learning Program – The Successful Open House & Leadership Development

    Thursday February 13, 2025 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm Location:  Zoom only High engagement, a welcoming atmosphere, and a structured yet enjoyable event. These are a few of the elements that can contribute to a successful Toastmasters Open House. Explore a range of elements that contribute to making your open house productive. 1 Hr. The Successful Open House (e) 1 Hr. Club Officer Development Attendance at the Club Officer Development hour plus one (1) additional hour will satisfy the District 39 requirement for training. The District 39 requirement for the Training section (#9) of the Distinguished Club Program is, one (1) hour of Club Officer Specific development + one (1) additional hour of enrichment development.

    Thank you for stepping up to be part of the planning team for the district 39 Spring Conference! Your enthusiasm and expertise are key to making this event a success, and I am thrilled to have you on board. Our first team meeting is scheduled for: Date: Monday, January 27th, 2025 Time: 6:30 p.m. Location: Zoom  https://us06web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZwude6qqzguGtK8kSIbVgMnzUtSR9Hap3e5 (link is also on the D39 calendar) We'll discuss key roles, set goals, and share initial ideas on how we can bring our theme - "Believe, Lead, and Succeed" - to life. Your input will be invaluable as we shape a dynamic experience for all attendees. Please mark your calendars and come ready to share your thoughts and creative energy. Together, we'll build something truly outstanding!  If you have any questions or cannot attend, please let me know in advance.     Area 14 International Speech & Tall Tales Contest

    Day: Saturday Date: March 1, 2025 Time: 10:00 am - 12:00 pm Format: In-Person only for all contestants and functionaries. Spectators may attend in person or online. Speech contests are a Toastmasters tradition. Each year, we seek to identify and recognize members with outstanding public speaking skills and ultimately award the title of “World Champion of Public Speaking” to one among our ranks. Besides begin fun, it recognizes excellence, inspires our members, and draws attention to our organization. The purpose of a speech contest is to provide an opportunity for speakers to improve their speaking abilities, to recognize individual Toastmasters as an encouragement to all, and to provide an opportunity for all Toastmasters to learn by observing speakers who have benefited from their Toastmasters training. Each contest focuses on a particular set of skills, providing a terrific opportunity to learn about a specific area of communication. Contestants please arrive at 9:30 pm for the contestants briefing. Functionaries please arrive at 9:30 pm for the functionary briefing. Judges please arrive at 9:30 pm for the judges briefing.
