Training & TLI

Enhance your ability to lead your club to success by attending the Training and Leadership Institute sessions. At least four officers must be trained at both the summer and winter sessions for your club to get credit in the Distinguished Club Program. Special recognition for clubs who get all seven officers trained.


All-Enrichment TLI
It will be held Saturday, March 15^th, at LaBou Conference Center. Sessions to be held:

• Evaluate to Motivate
• Toastmasters International 2007 Convention videos
• Want to Run for District Officer?
• Spaces for presenting a scripted speech from the Leadership Excellence Series or the Successful Club Series (for credit for Old Competent Leader)

If you are one of the 750 eligible past club officers, you will want to earn your “Old” Competent Leader before June 30^th, 2008. Eligible = You have your service time completed (6 months as an officer), taken officer training during that time, and participated in a club success plan. You can earn a CL every year you are an officer. This TLI has opportunities for you to present a scripted speech from the Leadership Excellence or Successful Club Series as one of your requirements. Please contact the TLI Coordinator for details.

Tips for TLI

• You don't have to be an officer to attend TLI, it is more than just officer training.
• Be sure to read your officer's manual prior to attending TLI.
• Be sure to sign in for the class and include your club number. If you hold the same position in multiple clubs, be sure to list all clubs.
• Be an active listener.
• Share your experiences when appropriate.
• Use your Toastmaster's manners.
• Encourage other officers to attend.
• Have fun.

TLI Sargeant-At-Arms
If you are attending a class, why not help out by being a TLI Sargeant-At-Arms? TLI Sargeant-At-Arms:

• Arrange the training roon
• Help sign in the classes
• Introduce the trainers
• Time the classes
• Present the certificate of appreciation to the trainer
• Collect the post-class surveys
