Who is Lance Miller?

Lance Miller is an award-winning public speaker and trainer. When he is on stage or behind a podium, he brings his distinctive talent and views on life that has shaped his philosophy and understanding of the world.

Lance graduated from Michigan State University with a Degree in Food Systems, Economics and Management. He began working as a teenager in his family’s milk and ice cream company, where he learned real life lessons. Working in the processing plant, running delivery routes, and managing retail stores instilled in him the values of hard work and importance of interpersonal communication when handling employees and customers.

His unique perspective is that of someone who has lived life. He has an extensive background in business. He has sat atop 14,000 ft. peaks. He has rafted some of the roughest whitewater in the U.S, sailed across the Atlantic from the Virgin Islands to Norway, and piloted his own aircraft for hundreds of hours. Lance has scuba dived under frozen lakes in the middle of winter and hitchhiked through Europe. He is a philanthropist who has worked in numerous humanitarian causes around the world.

Lance’s work experiences include:

  • Sales and management positions with the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee, Nestle, Anheuser Bush and Katz Media Group. For 15 years he developed and managed sales and marketing programs for businesses in the fields of Law, Construction, International Finance, Alternative Health and the Internet.
  • From 1990 to 1993, he served as the National Spokesperson for Citizens for an Alternative Tax System, where he addressed community & political groups throughout California and Nevada and was the guest on over 150 Television and Talk Radio Shows across America.
  • From 1997 to 2003, he served as Vice-President of the International Foundation for Human Rights and Tolerance, where he organized and led International Human Rights Marathons in the United States and Europe covering over 10,000 miles in over 15 countries. Lance has delivered over 300 public addresses at civic forums and official gatherings on the importance of fundamental human rights as a foundation to civilization, peace and economic prosperity.
  • From 2004 to 2008, he served as the President of The Way to Happiness Foundation International. The Foundation delivers programs in 94 languages and 100 countries teaching universal character and ethics principles to assists individuals and organizations around the world by creating values of trust, honesty and responsibility.
  • He served as member of the Board of Directors of the Glendale California Chamber of Commerce and as Co-Chair of the Leadership Glendale Program.
  • Lance participated in the management team of 5 new business start-ups. Most recently he served as President of Diesel TEK, Inc., an environmental technology company that is providing new cost effective solutions to the diesel industry to reduce diesel exhaust emissions and greenhouse gases while increasing engine performance, fuel mileage and engine life.

Lance is a prominent member of Toastmasters International and a Distinguished Toastmaster. He played a key role in building his home Toastmasters Club, Renaissance Speakers, to the #4 Toastmasters Club in the world. In 2005, he won the title of World Champion of Public Speaking in a competition that included 28,000 contestants from 90 countries.
